The CFI Tools Nearest App is used to get Bearing and Distance to the 100 Nearest Airports and NAVAIDs in the USA. This is a Universal App which means it runs on iPhone and iPad.
Any pilot who works with a GPS knows how useful the Nearest button is. And it is easy to use. It is designed to be simple and that makes it easy to use with one hand.
You can filter points in or out based on type. There are four defined types: Airport, VOR, NDB and Other.
Distance can be displayed in Nautical Miles or Kilometers.
The App screen will rotate based on the orientation of the iPhone/iPad but also has a position lock abutton to prevent automatic orientation. This can make it easier to use when the device is moving around.
